Carnival Ecstasy in Aliaga scrapyard
Carnival
Ecstasy ran aground today at Aliaga in Turkey and will soon begin dismantling,
alongside Carnival Sensation in the advanced scrap process. She was a
Fantasy-class cruise ship operated by Carnival Cruise Line & Built by
Kværner Masa-Yards in Finland.
Introducing Carnival Ecstasy
Her
inaugural voyage began on April 2, 1991, and was also the second of eight
Fantasy Class ships. In the beginning when she started her journey her name was
Ecstasy. After 16 years, in 2007 her name was changed & she get the prefix
Carnival in common with all of her Fantasy-class sisters.
End Session
During her
first voyage in March 2020, she suffered lifeboat issues in March 2022. For
this reason, Carnival Cruise Line announced that the Ecstasy would leave the
fleet, with her final passenger voyage on Oct 10, 2022. In her 31 years of
service, the ship carried nearly 5.5 million guests
